What was announced?

Reform work, announced 16 October 2026. Australian Government, state and territory ministers agreed to modernise the National Construction Code, improve national consistency and support methods such as modular construction to help housing delivery.

What is happening in Queensland?

Consultation on the draft State Planning Policy closed on 26 October. The official page says the draft remains under review and a final policy will follow. It is not evidence that the replacement policy is already fully operating.
